The opening of the new HTS factory in China was attended by 67 guests from Scandinavia and Europe. It has taken nine months to build the factory, with a floor area of 12 000 m² and 350 employees. The complex consists of three buildings. In the factory building skiing and cycling helmets are manufactured, as well as ready-to-wear clothing and components for children's car seats. The latest modern industrial robots operate in the factory beside a completely new injection moulding line and conventional manpower.
There is a six-storey residential hotel in the neighbourhood to house 300 employees who live in the complex. A three-story administrative building has also been built with every modern facility.
The opening was attended by employees of HTS and customers from the car, sports and children's equipment industries in Scandinavia and Europe. There were also 120 Chinese representatives of sub-suppliers, customers and a large delegation from the local authorities. The official opening was performed by Hans Kristian Torgersen - Managing Director of HTS, Jimmy Peng - 20% partner and factory manager, Olav Skinnes - chairman of Krødshered municipality, and Liu Shao Hui - Governor and Leader of the Chinese Communist party in HuiZhou. There was an impressive opening ceremony with cultural presentations of Chinese music, traditional dancing dragons and ceremonial rituals to bring good fortune and success to the operation for a thousand years.
